MILFORD, CONN.- Shannon’s Fine Art Auctioneers is hosting a two-session Online Discovery Auction of Fine Art, including paintings, prints and sculptures, on Thursday, June 16th, with Session I starting at 12 o’clock noon Eastern time. Session II will start at 3 pm. All lots will be offered at little or no reserve.

The auction will be available for preview in Shannon’s gallery from June 9th-15th, at 354 Woodmont Road in Milford, Conn. The sale will be hosted by eBay.com and Invaluble.com. The online catalog will be available for left bids beginning June 7th. All lots will be offered at little or no reserve.

The first session will feature a collection of works from various owners with highlights including a Pablo Picasso etching, Bloch 1905 from 156 Gravures, Estimate $2,000-3,000 and Guy Pene Du Bois’ Polynesian, oil on canvas, in original condition from the artist’s estate, Estimate $2,000-3,000.

The second session will feature just over 100 lots of contemporary art from Masco Corporation. Masco Corporation, based in Detroit, Michigan is one of the world's largest manufacturers of brand- name products for home improvement and new home construction markets. These brands include Delta Faucets, Merrilat Cabinets, BEHR®, and many others.

The company originated in 1929 by Alex Manoogian as Masco Screw Company and in 1961 the Company became Masco Corporation, headquartered in Taylor, Michigan. Richard Manoogian, the founder’s son, became President and Chief Operating Officer that year.

Mr. Manoogian, a graduate of Yale, is known in the art world as a top collector of American Art. He has served on the Board at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) since 1968. The wing that houses the American Art collection at the DIA was named “The Manoogian Wing” in 2007.

As a way of showing their commitment to the Arts and to provide their employees exposure to artwork, Masco Corporation, under the guidance of Mr Manoogian, is home to a world renowned art collection.

Shannon’s is pleased to offer a portion of the Masco Corporation Collection for sale on June 16th 2016. The Contemporary paintings and sculpture offered are high quality works of art that were acquired over the course of the past 30 years. Shannon’s is excited to present this collection of works, offered for the first time at auction.

Highlights of this, second session, include a large-scale Abstract Expressionist painting by Cleve Gray, Conjunction #150 from 1976, Estimate $4,000-6,000 fine prints by Op-Art artist, Nicholas Krushenick, Allan D'Arcangelo, and paintings by trompe l’oeil, abstract artist, James Havard, estimated as low as $2,000-3,000.

In total the auction will have over 200 lots with the first session comprised of over 100 lots and the second session comprised of 109 lots.
