NEW YORK, NY.- Antiquorum Auctioneers announced the appointment of Charles Tearle as horological consultant to Antiquorum. Based in Los Angeles, Charles will work closely with Antiquorum’s team of experts in New York and Hong Kong to bring to market rare and exceptional timepieces and build upon Antiquorum’s thriving business throughout the United States and Asia.

Charles Tearle began his illustrious career in 1990 when he joined Somlo Antiques, a prestigious watch retailer in London. Charles further fueled his love for fine timepieces heading up watch departments at various prominent auction houses in Europe, the United States and Asia. In 2008, Charles was appointed Director & Watch Expert at Antiquorum initially based in California before he was promoted to running the watch departments in New York and Hong Kong. Following his successes at celebrated auction houses around the world, Charles became an independent broker and consultant for select private clients.

Specializing in vintage wristwatches from the 1920’s to the 1970’s, Charles has a particular interest in Patek Philippe, Cartier and Rolex sports watches. Charles also follows the modern Swiss watch industry closely and was co-moderator of the Richard Mille Forum on TimeZone from 2009-2011. He has been featured as a watch expert on several television programs and is regularly quoted on horology related matters in important publications including The Telegraph, The Financial Times, The Financial Times Magazine, Mens Journal, GQ and Business Times.

“With over twenty years of experience in the watch industry encompassing retail and auction platforms, Charles Tearle brings with him a wealth of knowledge to his new position as horological consultant to Antiquorum. We are delighted that Charles is re-joining the Antiquorum team and look forward to expanding our presence on the west coast and continuing to offer our clients unparalleled expertise and customer service,” said Evan Zimmermann, President & CEO of Antiquorum.
