MIAMI, FLA.- Pérez Art Museum Miami has appointed four new members to its board of trustees: Barron Channer, George Edwin Crapple, Adri Guha and Dorothy Terrell. The announcement comes just after PAMM Director Franklin Sirmans capped an extremely successful first six months at the museum, which included a number of significant new acquisitions, several major conferences among international peer institutions and a sustained amount of annual visitors.

Barron Channer is managing principal of Woodwater Investments, a real estate investment firm with primary focus on value-add and opportunistic investments across the Miami metropolitan area. Prior to entering the real estate sector, he worked as a technology architect. Committed to inclusiveness, Barron actively supports efforts to increase access to jobs and business opportunities for South Florida’s minority community. Passionate about the transformative impact of technology, he selectively serves as an angel investor and/or advisor to emerging technology entrepreneurs.

Barron is a co-chair of Pérez Art Museum Miami’s Ambassadors for African American Art. He serves as a board member with the Knight Foundation’s Miami Advisory Council, The Miami Foundation, Baptist-South Miami Hospital and the American Friends of Jamaica.

Barron holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania along with a degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

George Edwin Crapple is co-chairman of Millburn Ridgefield Corporation, a money management firm specializing in mathematical trading strategies in currency and futures markets. He was first associated with Millburn in 1976 and joined the company in 1983 on a full-time basis. He previously was a lawyer and partner at Sidley & Austin in Chicago, specializing in commodities, securities, corporate and tax law. Crapple is a former director of the National Futures Association (NFA), past chairman of the Managed Funds Associates, a former member of the Global Markets Advisory Committee of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and former member of the board of directors of the Futures Industry Association (FIA).

Crapple has been a trustee of The Bruce Museum in Greenwich, Connecticut since 1997 (co-chairman 2004-2007). He is a member of the Director’s Advisory Board of the Yale Cancer Center and a trustee of several private foundations. Crapple received his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin, where his field of concentration was economics, and graduated from Harvard Law School, magna cum laude, in 1969 where he was an editor of The Harvard Law Review.

Adri Guha is chief investment officer of Advanced Portfolio Management (APM), a specialty asset management firm based in New York. APM designs and manages customized active management solutions for endowments, foundations, pension funds, insurance companies, banks and other financial institutions in North America, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining APM, Guha worked in the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers, in London and New York, where he held assignments in multiple industry verticals. He is an active and frequent speaker at industry and academic conferences and seminars.

Guha served for multiple years on the steering committee of the Junior Council at the American Museum of Natural History in New York. He graduated with distinction from Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences in Pilani, India with a degree in electrical and electronics engineering. He received his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad with a major in finance and is a CFA charter-holder.

Dorothy Terrell is the founder and managing partner of FirstCap Advisors, a venture capital and advisory services firm committed to helping innovative technology companies move successfully through the critical early stages of product and business development. Prior to launching FirstCap Advisors, Terrell was a partner at First Light Capital, a venture capital firm focused on enterprise software/integration, communications and business-to-business e-commerce.

Terrell’s numerous awards include, but are not limited to, being named one of the “Top 50 Women Line Managers in America” by Executive Female magazine; one of the “Top Ten Business Marketers” by Business Marketing magazine; and one of “20 Women of Power and Influence in Corporate America” by Black Enterprise magazine. She was also a subject of two books, “The Wizards and Their Wonders: Portraits in Computing” by Christopher Warren and “The Enterprising Woman” by Mari Florence.

Terrell serves on the boards of General Mills, Inc. and Herman Miller, Inc. She previously served on the boards of Sears, Roebuck and Company and Lightbridge, Inc., both public companies, and privately held Endeca Technologies, Inc. With a longstanding commitment to the community, she also serves on the boards of Partners HealthCare System and Massachusetts General Hospital. She was a founding board member of The Commonwealth Institute, dedicated to helping women entrepreneurs grow their businesses. Terrell is a graduate of Florida A&M University, which presented her with a Distinguished Alumni Award.
