AMSTERDAM.- NEU NOW, the international art festival showcasing the work of exceptional emerging artists, returns to Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek from 14 – 18 September. Selected artists from art academies across Europe are invited to present their work and to participate in a programme that is designed to empower creative talent.

An Established Festival for Exceptional Talent
NEU NOW is Amsterdam’s only international art festival devoted to presenting emerging artists that are advancing towards their professional careers from art academies across Europe and beyond. During the past seven editions NEU NOW has presented the works of more than 700 international talents from all disciplines and an array of art schools. Previous editions of NEU NOW were held in Vilnius, Tallinn, Nantes, Porto, Amsterdam and Glasgow. In 2015 the festival returned to Amsterdam, where it found a permanent home.

Creating Future Opportunities
NEU NOW promotes the fluid character of the artistic disciplines and presents a filled programme with exhibitions, performances, workshops, films, and artist talks. The international jury of the 2016 edition selected 30 artworks from emerging artists from 18 countries. The artists will be invited to participate in a programme that is designed to empower, catalyse collaboration and create future opportunities.

In addition to the main event in September, NEU NOW supports emerging artists throughout the year. NEU NOW operates as a platform promoting artistic excellence through cutting edge presentations and activities featuring artwork across a wide range of disciplines. Additionally, selected artists are invited to show their work and participate in residencies with partners of NEU NOW including: FOAM Fotografiemuseum Amsterdam, Southbank, Prix Europa Berlin, FHNW Academy of Art and Design in collaboration with Art Basel and more.

NEU NOW will take place from 14 to 18 September.
