YONKERS, NY.- Masha Turchinsky, Director of the Hudson River Museum, announces today that Samantha Hoover will join the HRM as Deputy Director for Advancement, Communications, and Administration. Currently Director of External Relations at the New York School of Interior Design in New York City, Ms. Hoover will begin her post later this month.

Ms. Hoover brings more than fifteen years of experience in communications, marketing, fundraising, and program development for cultural and educational institutions in New York City. At NYSID, she spearheaded the relaunch of the institution’s website and the re-envisioning of its design and content strategy for communications and development, which led to a significant increase in student enrollment, contributed income, and a #1 ranking for undergraduate and graduate interior design programs in the nation. Prior to the New York School of Interior Design, Ms. Hoover served as Director of Marketing and Business Development at ESI Design; Director of Business Development and Marketing at Acoustiguide; and Director of Communications at the School of Visual Arts, respectively. Ms. Hoover began her work in the cultural sector in 1994 in exhibitions at the International Center of Photography and later in publications at the Asia Society.

“Samantha is a consummate cultural arts professional with a strategic and creative mind, a keen eye, and strong expertise in all of the complexities of organizing and evolving a major advancement and communications program,” said Ms. Turchinsky. “Her proven track record encompasses mutually-beneficial partnerships with esteemed organizations of all sizes. I look forward to working with her during this time of mission-driven momentum and innovation to realize new opportunities for the Hudson River Museum—a proud Westchester cultural treasure—in the years to come.”

Thomas D’Auria, chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Hudson River Museum said: "Masha Turchinsky has identified and appointed an energetic, thoughtful, first-class senior leader in Samantha Hoover. I speak for my fellow trustees in saying we have no doubt Samantha will guide her dedicated team to deliver an even stronger impact on advancing the Museum’s mission and on communicating about our rich, dynamic program.”

Ms. Hoover commented, “I am thrilled to be joining the Hudson River Museum, and to be working under the new and exciting direction of Masha Turchinsky. The HRM is an incredible asset to Westchester County and beyond, and I am very much looking forward to collaborating with the staff, partners, and supporters of the Museum to strengthen current engagement initiatives and to develop new ones.”

Ms. Hoover has a Masters in Art History from Case Western Reserve University and a Bachelors in Psychology from Binghamton University. A native New Yorker, she and her husband Jeffrey Clemens, and their two children, now reside in Pleasantville in Westchester County.
