Rare and limited Hermès handbags dominate for Heritage Auctions

DALLAS, TX.- An Hermès 30 cm Matte White Himalayan Nilo Crocodile Birkin sold for $93,750 in Heritage Auctions' Winter Luxury Accessories Signature Auction Feb. 2-3 in Dallas, Texas. Hermès handbags dominated the highest sale price positions once again dominating the top spots with four handbags each breaking the $40,000 barrier and the top eight handbags, all Hermès, totaling $340,000. The Winter Luxury Accessories Signature Auction total sales realized $1,172,065.

“We are known for offering rare and limited edition handbags and this auction included a magnificent Hermès 30cm Matte White Himalayan Nilo Crocodile Birkin, one the most desirable handbags in the world, selling for $93,750,"said Diane D'Amato, Heritage Auctions Director of Luxury Accessories. “The handbag on the cover of our Winter Luxury Accessories catalog featured a truly stunning Hermès 35cm Matte Malachite Nilo Crocodile Birkin, which sold for $50,000 in our Feb. 2 sale."

A total of 276 lots sold at this luxury auction with Hermès handbags, scarves and ties and other accessories accounting for 145 items.

An eye-catching Hermès 35cm Shiny Graphite Porosus Crocodile Birkin sold for $56,250. The pristine condition bag features two rolled handles, palladium hardware and a flap top with a turn lock closure. The interior is done in matching Graphite Chevre leather, featuring one zip pocket and one slip pocket. This bag includes two keys, a lock and a clochette.

The Heritage Auctions catalog cover subject handbag, a stunning Hermès 35cm Matte Malachite Nilo Crocodile Birkin, sold for $50,000. The handbag was in excellent to pristine condition and featured the very popular palladium hardware.

Another Birkin that sold for a handsome figure was a fetching Hermès 30cm Shiny Vert Veronese Nilo Crocodile Birkin, which gaveled at $45,000. The gold hardware and interior done in Vert Veronese Chevre leather made this one of the top handbags in the auction.

- Hermès 45cm Blue Nuit Togo Leather Shark Mou Bolide Bag with Palladium Hardware: $20,000
