LOS ANGELES, CA.- Marlo Brando’s Rolodex and phonebook, containing the addresses and phone numbers of thousands of celebrities, will be auctioned by Nate D. Sanders Auctions on April 27, 2017.

Marlon Brando's personal Rolodex from the 1970’s-80’s features information for more than 1,000 contacts. Celebrities include: Orson Welles, Jack Nicholson, George C. Scott, Barbra Streisand, Bob Dylan, Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden, Peter Fonda, Bernardo Bertolucci, Francis Ford Coppola, David Geffen, Alex Haley, Frank Sinatra, Hugh Hefner, Mohammed [sic] Ali, Harry Belafonte, Robert Redford, Stella Adler, Sidney Lumet, Mike Nichols and Johnny Carson, among others.

Many prominent journalists are also included: Carl Bernstein's direct line at the ''Washington Post,'' Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg, William Hearst, Jimmy Breslin, Walter Cronkite, Pete Hamill, Pierre Salinger and Barbara Walters, along with political figures Senator Barry Goldwater, Henry Kissinger, Coretta Scott King, Governor Jerry Brown, Senator Edward Kennedy and even Watergate felon John Ehrlichman of the Nixon White House.

There are also dozens of entries highlighting Brando’s deep connection to the Native American community. They include: tribal leaders, advocacy organizations, government agencies and Native American journalists. Rolodex cards for the sheriff’s and public defender's offices in South Dakota, likely used by Brando to advocate for the rights of Native Americans arrested at Wounded Knee in 1973 are also included. Of particular interest is a card for Sacheen Littlefeather, the Native American woman who spoke on behalf of Brando at the 1973 Academy Awards, where he declined his Oscar for ''The Godfather,'' to bring attention to the Wounded Knee incident.

Other non-profits listed in the Rolodex include First Americans in Mexico, the ACLU, Amnesty International, the Anti-Defamation League, NAACP, Common Cause and several cards for Ralph Nader. There's a section for ham radio, of which Brando was an active user, cards for his various doctors, marine experts including Jacques Cousteau, an entire section on Catholic bishops and a card for Billy Graham.
