NEW YORK, NY.- TEFAF New York Spring, May 4-8, 2017 is the second of TEFAF's debut fairs outside Europe and focuses on Modern and Contemporary Art & Design at the historic Park Avenue Armory in New York City. The Fair features 93 of the world’s most illustrious dealers in museum calibre art and design, and a small number devoted to jewelry, African & Oceanic art and antiquities.

Dedication to historical importance and unrivalled quality is what sets TEFAF apart from others in the market place. From superb Post-Impressionist works and blue chip European and American Modern Masters to provocative cuttingedge Contemporary Art, TEFAF New York Spring celebrates the major artistic movements of the last 120 years in a highly-curated elegant showcase at the Armory. In the second half of the 20th century, New York as much as any city defined the art of the Contemporary era, and was home to pioneering artists, curators, gallerists and collectors of Abstract Expressionism, Pop, and Minimalism. That vibrant, late 20th century culture remains at the center of a vigorous Contemporary Art movement in New York. With that artistic legacy and homage to historical context, TEFAF New York Spring adheres to the highest principles in the art world as it breaks new ground by crossing disciplines and challenging boundaries.

“The launch of TEFAF New York Spring completes the first full cycle of TEFAF’s expansion this year, and we are delighted that the Fairs have been so well-received,” comments Michael Plummer, Co-Managing Director of TEFAF New York.

Says Jeff Rabin, Co-Managing Director, “the two fairs in New York represent the important expansion of the TEFAF portfolio, providing an additional platform for today’s collectors and museums.” He continues “the offerings at TEFAF New York Spring, set against the sleek, clean and ethereal Tom Postma design of the Fair, will appeal to seasoned and new collectors alike.”

TEFAF now organises three Fairs a year on two continents; TEFAF Maastricht is widely regarded as the world’s leading fair for art, antiques and design.

TEFAF New York Spring follows the successful first edition of TEFAF New York Fall, launched in October 2016 at the Park Avenue Armory, which concentrated on fine and decorative art from antiquity to 1920.
