LONDON.- Tiziana des Pallieres, founder of new creative agency Artizians, presents the first European solo exhibition of young photographic talent Nicoline Aagesen, who is represented by Artizians.

‘Uncensored’ is a collection of fly on the wall photos that take a peek into the glossy lives of fashion forward globetrotting Millenials. A female Generation Z incarnation of Larry Clark, whose seminal photos of partying teenagers inspired the 90’s sleeper hit ‘Kids’, Nicoline Aagesen uses her experience as a model to take control behind the lens. Nicoline’s images turn the tables on the male gaze by putting her friends in front of the lens and playing out her philosophy of “my camera, my rules”.

Her images have a candy-coloured palette reminiscent of David la Chapelle, mixed with the in-control sexiness of Ellen von Unwerth’s ouevre. Nicoline’s ‘Uncensored’ portfolio of candid pop shots featuring her friends and young models are a kind of 2000’s version of the late Corinne Day’s iconic ‘3rd Summer of Love’ editorial for The Face magazine in 1990.

Nicoline’s post-feminist girl on girl imagery is at the forefront of the new age of the female gaze, where photographic collectives such as #girlgaze and Supermodel Adwoa Aboah’s campaign Gurls Talk, address real issues faced by Millenials and Post- Millenials. Nicoline herself was at the helm of a #freethenipple exhibition at the XXX gallery in Hong Kong.

In an interview with Metal Magazine Nicoline commented: “A model I was shooting had just one million too many things too say, and I ended up saying “My Camera, My Rules!” and that was it. I love to capture people’s personalities, or the feeling I give them when I’m shooting. “

Tiziana des Pallieres and Nicoline Aagesen are part of a movement of globe-trotting creative provocateurs, who are wrestling back control of the female image from often misogynistic male photographers such as Terry Richardson.

Nicoline’s star is in the ascendant as a photographer, and in her short but increasingly stellar career, she has already been featured by iD, C-Heads and Metal Magazine. She shoots with a Canon 550D, Fujifilm instax 210 Instant Film Camera & Fujifilm instax mini 8 Instant Film Camera, and also has a love of the lost art of Polaroid for its ability to capture fleeting moments.

Tiziana and Nicoline met in Hong Kong in 2016, where the curator commissioned the dancer/ model turned photographer to shoot an art exhibition she curated at Art Basel. Tiziana’s event and the resulting shots by Nicoline injected a young LA vibe into the Hong Kong art scene. Fast-forward to 2017 and the duo are collaborating again on ‘Uncensored’ in London.

Tiziana founded Artizians in 2016 as a kind of artistic collective for the Instagram generation, born out of a desire to merge her passion of collecting contemporary art with discovering a new generation of artists and photographers.

Artizians upcoming exhibitions include an exhibition of 3 young European artists in Beijing and LA in early 2018. Born in Hungary, Tiziana rebelled against her upbringing within a constricting regime by studying International relations and moving to Monaco for University, before spending time in LA. Now she’s set her sights on shaking up the London art scene.
