DALLAS, TX.- Colored diamonds excelled in Heritage Auctions' $5.1 million Fine Jewelry offering as a breathtaking 3.23 carat Fancy Blue Diamond, Diamond, Platinum Ring commanded $675,000 Sept. 25 in Beverly Hills.
"The collector demand for colored diamonds has never been higher," said Jill Burgum, Senior Director of Jewelry at
Heritage Auctions. "We didn't see just one or two bidders pursue these special gemstones. We saw several bidders competing for the best of the best."
A 5.04-carat Fancy Intense Purplish-Pink Diamond, Diamond, Platinum Ring reached $372,500 and an oval modified brilliant-cut Fancy Yellow Diamond, Diamond, Platinum, Gold Ring a ray of sunshine sold for $93,750.
Captivating large-carat lots exceeded pre-action estimates. A Rolex Lady's Diamond, White Gold Pearlmaster Watch with a total weight of 5.80 carats sold for $62,500 against a $10,000 estimate. A 4.66-carat Burma Sapphire, Diamond, Platinum Ring by Bvlgari brought $57,500 and an impressive, 7.48-carat Fancy Intense Yellow Diamond, White Gold Ring ended at $55,000.
A Diamond, Platinum Necklace, featuring a square modified brilliant-cut diamond weighing 10.13 carats enhanced by full-cut diamonds weighing a total of 7.00 carats, sold for $52,500. A pear-shaped Diamond, Platinum Ring weighing 7.20 carats, enhanced by round brilliant-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 1.30 carats, sold for $52,500. A showy Diamond, Platinum Ring, featuring a 5.01-carat radiant-cut diamond enhanced by triangle-cut diamonds, was taken for $51,250.

· The Alhambra by Van Cleef & Arpels a diamond, white gold necklace featuring full-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 8.00 carats realized $43,750.
· A dazzling, convertible Diamond, Platinum Necklace, featuring baguette and full-cut diamonds weighing a total of approximately 52.00 carats, ended at $40,000.
· Weighing 5.19 carats, a Gentleman's Diamond, Gold Ring, centered by a brilliant-cut diamond, sold for $37,500.
· The Crown of Light©-cut diamond, an unmounted stone weighing 4.49 carats, sold for $37,500.
