HONG KONG.- Phillips announced its fall season of sales in Hong Kong, which will take place from 26 to 28 November 2017, presenting curated offerings of Art, Design, Jewellery and Watches. Highlights include international modern and contemporary art, with works by Roy Lichtenstein and teamLab; exceptional Jewels & Jadeite, led by an impressive Burmese ruby and diamond necklace; and the highest quality timepieces including rare examples by Patek Philippe.

20th Century & Contemporary Art & Design Evening Sale 26 November 2017
Jonathan Crockett, Head of 20th Century & Contemporary Art, and Deputy Chairman, Asia: “This season in Hong Kong, we are excited to present a curated offering of international modern and contemporary art and design. We are proud to offer for the first time at auction a digital artwork by teamLab, the widely exhibited and world-renowned Japanese art collective. ‘Universe of Water Particles’ is a virtual waterfall created in an immersive 3-D virtual space. The piece is emblematic of the collective’s recognisable body of work, which brings art, technology, design and the natural world, together. Also on offer is Roy Lichtenstein’s ‘Landscape with Poet (Study)’, a representative work that synthesises the forefather of Pop Art’s longstanding interest in traditional Chinese ink landscapes, with his celebrated Ben-Day dot technique.”

Jewels & Jadeite 27 November 2017
Terry Chu, Head of Jewellery, Phillips Asia: “Following the success of the Blessed Blossom ruby last season, this upcoming Jewels & Jadeite sale will be highlighted by an important ruby necklace comprising thirty-four unheated Burmese rubies of remarkable quality. Mounted with over 56 carats of saturated red rubies, some further graded to possess the most-coveted pigeon’s blood red colour, this necklace is an exceptional assembly of fine natural Burmese rubies that are matching in both size and purity. They are alternated by cushion-shaped diamonds that affords the necklace timeless elegance. Fancy coloured diamonds are also highly sought-after in the current market and we are pleased to present the Golden Drop, an internally flawless Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond weighing 8.09 carats. This pearshaped diamond exhibits a pleasing and wellproportioned outline that is rare to come by in coloured diamonds of such size and colour grade.”

The Hong Kong Watch Auction: Five 28 November 2017
Jill Chan, Specialist, Business Development Director, Phillips Asia: “Following another recordbreaking Spring auction season, which furthered Phillips’ standing as the global market leader in watches, Phillips in Association with Bacs & Russo will continue to offer the highest quality timepieces in our Hong Kong sale. One of the star lots is the Patek Philippe reference 5073P, launched in 2011. The bezel and shoulders of the watch are set with 103 baguette diamonds, with a total diamond weight of approximately 5.28 carats. Arguably the most visually striking of all diamond-set complications from Patek Philippe, the 5073P is a rare achievement of when the two artisan skills of haute-horlogerie and haute jewellery come together in perfect balance. Also on offer are important vintage examples, including the gold double crown world time Patek Philippe wristwatch reference 2523, which was introduced to the market in the early 1950s. This highly important timepiece is only one of two known examples with gold guilloché dial and is in excellent condition, a collector’s gem.”
