Biennial Print Fair Brings Art Galleries and Collectors to Baltimore in March

BALTIMORE, MD.- This spring, the Baltimore Museum of Art brings 14 galleries, dealers, and presses from around the U.S. for The Baltimore Fair for Contemporary Prints & New Editions. This biennial event held on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. offers works by leading contemporary artists and innovators in printmaking for sale in the BMA’s special exhibition galleries. The weekend fair also features a talk with internationally acclaimed artist Christiane Baumgartner, a panel discussion on current printmaking trends, guided tours, and the presentation of the fifth Artist & Editions Award.

The Baltimore Fair for Contemporary Prints & New Editions is unique in that it offers new and established collectors the opportunity to peruse prints in an intimate setting, talk personally with dealers, and learn more about contemporary artists and printmaking techniques. Visitors will find limited-edition portfolios and singleimage prints from both established and emerging artists. There will be a variety of work for sale, from screenprints to woodcuts to computer-generated images, as well as dealers specializing in photographic prints and drawings. In addition, 40 students and recent graduates of the Maryland Institute College of Art will present their finest works on paper, including etchings, woodcuts, lithographs, screenprints, artists' books, color photography, letterpress, and drawings. Proceeds from the fair are used to acquire contemporary works on paper for the BMA’s collection.

Participants in this year’s event include: Center Street Studio (Milton, MA); Cade Tompkins Editions • Projects (Providence, RI); Charles M. Young Fine Prints & Drawings LLC (Portland, CT); Gallery Joe (Philadelphia, PA); Maryland Institute College of Art (Baltimore, MD); Tandem Press (Madison, WI); Goya Contemporary & Goya-Girl Press (Baltimore, MD); Gemini G.E.L. at Joni Moysant Weyl (New York, NY); Dolphin Press & Print (Baltimore, MD); Jungle Press (Brooklyn, NY); Robert Brown Gallery (Washington, DC); G.W.
