DUSSELDORF.- Düsseldorfs second Quadriennale, a series of high-caliber exhibits in nine of the citys major art houses and galleries, is titled Quadriennale 2010 Presence of Art and features contemporary art in and from Düsseldorf of the past 50 years. The series, which also explores the far-reaching influences the citys art and artists had and have on the international art world and beyond, is scheduled to run from early September 2010 through January 2011.
This years Quadriennale establishes Düsseldorf even further as an international cultural metropolis. It also fuels the rise of the Rhine-Ruhr region as Europes art capital 2010, in which the regions cities unite with various world-class art programs and events.
Quadriennale 2010 includes exhibits by internationally renowned artists Joseph Beuys, Nam June Paik, Marcel Broodthaers and others in venues such as K20, K21, Benrath Castle, museum kunst palest, and NRW-Forum Düsseldorf.
The exhibits will be preceded by a Symposium in early fall, an open forum that invites all visitors including trade in preparation for the exhibits. Exact dates and locations will be available at
