Bonhams, has promoted India Phillips to Global Head of Impressionist and Modern Art with immediate effect.
India has been Head of Bonhams Impressionist and Modern Art Department in London since 2014. During that time, she has been responsible for the sale of many remarkable pieces including Figura de perfil (La Hermana Ana María), a rare and important work by Salvador Dali), and Auguste Rodins LEternel Printemps, which set a new world record at auction for a second state casting of the statue.
Bonhams Global CEO, Matthew Girling said, Under Indias leadership, the Impressionist and Modern Art department in London has gone from strength to strength. I am delighted that we can now draw on her experience and sense of strategic direction for our sales worldwide.
India Phillips said, This is an exciting opportunity to create a truly international department for Impressionist and Modern Art at Bonhams. We have an excellent team in place and I am greatly looking forward to building on our firm foundations.
Bonhams next Impressionist and Modern Art sales take place in London on Wednesday 1 March and in New York on 15 May.
