HONG KONG.- Sothebys announced the appointments of Lisa Chow as Deputy Chairman, Jewellery, Asia and of Jessica Wyndham as Head of Department, Jewellery, Asia. Together, Ms. Chow and Ms. Wyndham possess nearly four decades of jewellery and auction experience as well as extensive relationships with clients and dealers worldwide. Building on her most recent position as SOTHEBYS DIAMONDS General Manager and Sales Director, Asia, Ms. Chow will focus on providing strategic guidance and building client relationships for Sothebys jewellery auctions in Asia, while continuing to lead SOTHEBYS DIAMONDS in Asia. Ms. Wyndham will assume responsibility for managing Sothebys Jewellery department in Asia, including business getting, selling strategies and operations. Both will be based in Hong Kong.

Ms. Chow began her career at Sothebys Hong Kong in 1990. She joined the Jewellery department in 1995 as a member of the launch team for the first Western Jewellery Sale in Hong Kong, which established the city as an international jewellery hub. In 2006, Ms. Chow became a core member of SOTHEBYS DIAMONDS and was instrumental in introducing SOTHEBYS DIAMONDS in mainland China, Taiwan and Singapore.
Ms. Wyndham joined Sothebys London in 2010 and became Head of Jewellery, London, in 2017. She played a key role in many successful auctions, including the sale of two important private collections in 2012: Suzanne Belperron, one of the most highly notable female jewellery designers of the 20th century, and Michael Wellby, the renowned silver dealer.
Sothebys led the global auction market for jewellery in 2017 with worldwide sales totalling US$551.3 million. Sothebys has sold 4 of the 5 most expensive jewels ever offered at auction, including The CTF Pink Star sold in Hong Kong for US$71.2 Million in 2017, which holds the World Auction Record for Any Diamond or Gemstone.
The next Jewellery sale will take place on 3 April, as part of Sothebys Hong Kong Spring Auction Series.
