Milwaukee Art Museum hires Alissa Karl as Chief Financial Officer
Currently the Director of Finance at Alverno College, Karl is a certified public accountant with over 15 years of experience in accounting and management.

MILWAUKEE, WIS.- The Milwaukee Art Museum announced that Alissa Karl will join the Museum as the Chief Financial Officer for the private nonprofit organization.

Currently the Director of Finance at Alverno College, Karl is a certified public accountant with over 15 years of experience in accounting and management.

“Alissa has the deep financial and non-profit experience that the Museum can rely on,” said Dr. Marcelle Polednik, Donna and Donald Baumgartner Director, Milwaukee Art Museum. “However, it is her collaborative approach and her dedication to education that convinced us that she was the perfect candidate to lead our financial and accounting efforts and become a part of the senior leadership team.”

In addition to her financial and management experience, Ms. Karl also has served with Literacy AmeriCorps in Dayton, Ohio. She currently serves on the boards of the Midwest Renewable Energy Association and Clement Manor retirement community.

Fiscal year 2018 at the Milwaukee Art Museum has seen the addition of O’Donnell Park and parking garage to the campus, the preparations for a new strategic plan and a renewed focus on building the Museum’s endowment—making the role of CFO a critical component of the Museum’s success.

Alissa Karl officially starts in her role as the CFO of the Milwaukee Art Museum on June 5.
