PARIS.- If art is your passion you’d better plan a trip to Paris this November or browse the second time round of a new fair – Fine Arts Paris – for a refresher course in all that is exciting and creative and new in painting, drawing and sculpture in the City of Light with all the greatest museums joining in the fun.

Created in 2017 by the organizers of the Salon du dessin in association with Paris Tableau, the second edition of Fine Arts Paris will take place at the Carrousel du Louvre from November 7 to 11, 2018.

Dedicated to drawing, painting and sculpture from antiquity to today, Fine Arts Paris promises to create huge excitement and interest in the fine arts through a fine selection of international dealers, a museum exhibition in the heart of the Salon, a scientific conference and a very rich off-site cultural program dedicated to sculpture, produced in partnership with the greatest museums in Paris (The Louvre, the Petit Palais, the Pompidou Centre, museums Zadkine, Bourdelle, Rodin, Maillol …).
Some lucky visitors will get access to ‘behind the scenes at the museum’ tours, offering a privileged look at what the museum does not currently have on offer to the general public.

All the big hitters will be there at the Carrousel du Louvre Fine Arts Paris which will host some forty galleries including Didier Aaron, Canesso Gallery, Xavier Eeckhout, Trébosc & Van Lelyveld, Ratton-Ladrière, Talabardon & Gautier, Michel Descours, Gallery Terrades, de Bayser; American galleries Jill Newhouse, Rosenberg & Co, Pandora; the Spanish dealers Artur Ramon and José de la Mano; the Swiss Art Cuéllar Nathan and Bailly Gallery; the Italian Paolo Antonacci and Maurizio Nobile.

Fine Arts Paris will also open its ranks to new exhibitors such as Galerie Perrin, Eric Coatalem, Helene Bailly Gallery, Baulme Fine Arts, Mendes Gallery, Univers du Bronze, Jacques Leegenhoek, and also to young dealers such as the Dutch Lorenz Van der Meij or the Belgian Lancz Gallery.

At the heart of the salon, a museum exhibition entitled Peintres sculpteurs / Sculpteurs peintres Sculptor-Painters/ Painter-Sculptors will be produced in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts in Orléans and the Girodet Museum in Montargis. This unprecedented presentation will highlight the multi-discipline nature of some artists of the nineteenth century, around drawings and paintings by sculptor Triqueti and sculptures by painters Eugène Devéria and Léon Cogniet.

Fine Arts Week: Off-site journey dedicated to sculpture
Fine Arts Paris is also developing a very rich cultural program of events that will be dedicated this year to sculpture. Drawing on their experience with the Semaine du dessin (Drawing Week), which brings together nearly 30 museums and institutions around the Salon du dessin, the organizers wanted to give pride of place to the exceptional sculptural heritage, distributed among the numerous museums of the capital, but also omnipresent in its town planning and monuments.

The Fine Arts Week, dedicated this year to sculpture, will allow privileged visitors to enter the reserve collection of major museums (including the Louvre Museum and the City of Paris collection), to attend private tours, notably on the occasion of the opening of the new sculpture gallery of the Petit Palais, inaugurated on November 7th, to discover the different sculpture techniques through workshops and meetings with contemporary artists.

A scientific symposium
Also new this year, a round table followed by two talks devoted to Sculpture during the Second Empire, will be open to all visitors and will lead to the publication of a collection of scientific texts on the subject.
