AMSTERDAM.- Eduard Planting Gallery in Amsterdam presents from 12 July until 25 August 2018 a new exhibition of British celebrity photographer Terry O’Neill. The gallery shows with 'Stars Only' a selection of his most iconic portraits of celebrities as Brigitte Bardot, Honor Blackman, Audrey Hepburn, Kate Moss, Raquel Welch and Roger Moore.

The classic black and white portraits are mainly co-signed editions, limited and numbered. These photographs have been signed by Terry O’Neill and the portrayed celebrity; the result of a unique collaboration. The famous portrait of Faye Dunaway shows the actress the morning after she won her Oscar in Hollywood.

Terry O’Neill (London, 30 July 1938) will celebrate his 80th birthday this year and pioneered a more intimate, reportage style of celebrity photography, informal and spontaneous. He picked up a camera in 1958. For over six decades, he captured the frontline of fame, in both intimate private moments and extravagant public appearances.

During 60 years Terry O’Neill has photographed countless legendary stars of film, music and fashion. The photographer gained renown for chronicling the Swinging Sixties. His images have adorned historic rock albums, movie posters and international magazine covers. Iconic books provide an overview of the extensive oeuvre.

Terry O’Neill is one of the world’s most published and collected photographers with work hanging in national art galleries and private collections worldwide. The National Portrait Gallery in London has 77 portraits in the permanent collection. The Royal Photographic Society has awarded O’Neill with the Centenary Medal in recognition of his significant contribution to the art of photography.
