DENVER, PA.- Morphy Auctions, a leading antiques auction destination specializing in fresh to the market collections, announced today it will hold a Fine Art, Asian, & Antiques Auction, which will include tennis historian, Jeanne Cherry’s entire collection. From August 29-31, collectors from across the country are invited to Morphy’s Denver, PA location to survey some of the finest historical furniture, art, and tennis antiques dating back to the 17th century.

Known for spurring the tennis collector community as both a scholar of the sport and leading member of the Tennis Collectors of America and the UK’s Tennis Collectors' Society, Jeanne Cherry’s decades of collecting and antiquing accrued into a one-of-a-kind collection. Cherry’s full assortment of books, ephemera, photography, equipment, clothing, fine art, jewelry, and furniture inspired by the timeless sport will be offered during Morphy’s three-day sale. Highlights from the collection include:

In addition to the Jeanne Cherry Collection, Morphy Auctions will showcase a unique radio collection, featuring an exact replica of the radio that was on the Titanic in 1912. A tribute to the history of Asian art with lots ranging from porcelain tea bowls, ivory items, a Rhinoceros Horn Libation Cup to other cultural treasures will be auctioned during the August sale.

The Fine Art, Asian, & Antiques Auction will begin promptly at 9 a.m. on August 29 and take place at Morphy’s Denver, PA gallery located at 200 North Reading Road. In addition to live bidding, Morphy Auctions offers absentee, phone, and online bidding with no additional surcharges from third party bidding sites. All lots to be offered at the August auction are on display and available for preview in Morphy’s Denver auction gallery.
