Co-Founded in 2005 by Tom Isaacs, The Cure Parkinsons Trust (CPT) is a charitable organisation created by and for people living with Parkinsons. CPT has one bold aim to find a cure for Parkinsons. CPT funds and supports pioneering research into new treatments which offer real hope of a cure to the more than 10 million people living with the condition worldwide.
Tom lived an inspirational life with Parkinsons, devoted to the cause of CPT. He was passionate about the Cure3 project from the beginning and it was Toms description of living with Parkinsons as feeling like being boxed in that inspired Artwise with the concept from which Cure3 was borne. Tom passed away on May 31st, 2017 and Cure3 2018 is dedicated to his memory and incredible achievements.
Cure3 is an opportunity to buy beautiful and highly collectable art by major names and rising stars whilst supporting the vital work of The Trust. Each work has been created using a bespoke Perspex box, 20cm3 but with an amazing range of approaches and interpretations, both inside and outside the box. These unique works will be available to buy with prices from just under £1,000 to over £20,000, with the cubes on view to the public at Bonhams, London from 26th 28th October (Private view on 25th). Cubes will be available to purchase on www.cure3.co.uk from 8am on 26th October 2018.
Cure3 is devised by Susie Allen and Laura Culpan from Artwise, the dynamic curatorial team behind the original RCA Secret postcard project. Cure3 2017 was a critical success and raised more than £300,000 for CPT, securing plaudits from a host of international media including SKY News, F.T, How To Spend It, The Evening Standard, The Sunday Times, The Observer Magazine, The Telegraph, The Art Newspaper Wallpaper* and World of Interiors.
Followed and supported by both established and new collectors, Cure3 is an unmissable addition to the international art calendar and an important way to support The Cure Parkinsons Trust; by backing their essential work we continue the legacy of Tom Isaacs and his aim of consigning Parkinsons to a disease of the past.
Toms passion, determination and hard-work on behalf of everyone living with Parkinsons were the hallmark of his life and will be his continuing legacy. --Michael J. Fox. Actor and Parkinsons Activist with the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Cureᶟ 2018 is part of Toms legacy and is a tribute to his ability to inspire others to help find a cure. We are delighted that once again, the money raised from this wonderful event will be directed to funding clinical trials on treatments that have the potential to slow, stop, or reverse the progression of Parkinson's. ==Lyndsey Isaacs.
