ASPEN, COLO.- Anderson Ranch Arts Center’s largest community event, the 38th Annual Art Auction & Community Picnic, will feature more than 200 works of art available for bid in live and silent auctions. A highlight of the Aspen/Snowmass summer arts and culture scene, the event will take place on Saturday, August 4, from 11:00AM – 3:00PM at Anderson Ranch. The Annual Art Auction is open to the public and will feature a fun-filled morning and afternoon of live music, children’s art activities, a picnic lunch and more as part of this art-infused experience.

Curated by Barbara Lee, the live auction portion of the event features works by top contemporary artists including Christo, Mark Dion, Carroll Dunham, Shepard Fairey, Brad Howe, Dashiell Manley and Trevor Paglen. Alexander Berggruen, Specialist and Head of the Day Sale, Afternoon Session in Post-War and Contemporary Art at Christie’s, will serve as auctioneer.

“The 38th Annual Art Auction is a celebration of community, welcoming art makers and art lovers of all kinds to the Ranch,” said Nancy Wilhelms, Executive Director of Anderson Ranch Arts Center. “This community event has something for everyone. Most of the works in our auctions have Ranch roots—they were either created here, were part of a body of work presented here, or made by artists with a connection here. We are fortunate to have the support of such a solid Ranch family—everyone’s involvement means so much!”

All auction items is available for preview at Anderson Ranch from July 30 until August 3; live auction works are on view at the Ranch’s Patton-Malott Gallery and the Curator’s Choice and silent auction works are on display at the Ranch’s Wyly Painting Building. Advance bidding for live and Curator’s Choice auction works is available via Paddle8 right now until August 2 at 5:00PM ET at https://paddle8.com/auction/anderson-ranch-annual/
