LONDON.- Coming to a bookshop near you, iconic pop art artist, Sir Peter Blake has designed a Limited Edition Bag to celebrate bookshops as part of the annual Books Are My Bag campaign.

Sir Peter Blake joins a number of high profile artists and designers who have designed the Books Are My Bag campaign’s annual Limited Edition Bag – including Grayson Perry, Tracey Emin, Orla Kiely and Coralie Bickford-Smith. Blake’s Limited Edition Bag is created in his signature pop art style and will be available exclusively in bookshops up and down the country from Bookshop Day on Saturday 6th October.

Books Are My Bag’s Alan Staton commented: “We are absolutely thrilled that Sir Peter has given his support to booksellers and the campaign in this way. His wonderful design will be loved by booksellers and their customers.”

Now in its sixth year, the Books Are My Bag campaign highlights and celebrates the vital role of high street and campus bookshops. Over the last five years, more than a million people have worn a Books Are My Bag canvas bag in support of the campaign.

This year’s Children’s Limited Edition Bag is inspired by best-selling author Phillip Pullman’s new The Book of Dust trilogy and will likewise be available exclusively from bookshops. The design is based on Chris Wormell’s illustrations.
