LONDON.- The Cure Parkinson’s Trust, Artwise and Bonhams announceg the sum of half a million pounds raised thus far this year by Cure3 . With more sales still anticipated, the amount raised at this stage surpasses the £300,000 raised by the inaugural Cure3 in 2017. All profits from Cure3 will be going directly to The Cure Parkinson’s Trust and will make a significant contribution to ground-breaking research for a cure for Parkinson’s.
The well-attended showcase exhibition for Cure3 at Bonhams, London, ran from 26th October – 28th October 2018 with a glittering preview on the evening of 25th October. The VIP guests for the opening night, including eager collectors and a host of participating artists, were joined by CPT Patron, Mike Tindall who was interviewed live from the preview about Cure3 and the ongoing work of CPT for BBC London News.
Among the many impressive sales clocked up within an hour of the exhibition opening were Sir Anish Kapoor’s sumptuous blue domestic scale work ‘Blue3 for Cure3’ (£80,000) and the legendary Carmen Herrera’s ‘Blue Angle’ (£25,000) – her 1st ever sculptural work for public donation. By the end of the evening, works by artists including Turner Prize Winner, Helen Marten, Gavin Turk, Sir Peter Blake and Jonathan Yeo had all been snapped up, achieving an incredible opening night total in excess of £350,000 – beating the £300,000 achieved for all sales in 2017.

www.cure3.co.uk and with Christmas in mind, there are still a handful of beautiful and unique artworks available to buy at prices ranging from under £1,000 - £25,000. Each specially commissioned work has been created using a bespoke, Perspex box 20cmᶟ with the artists using the cube in an incredible variety of ways; including frame, support, plinth and vitrine.
Cureᶟ is an opportunity to support the ongoing work of The Cure Parkinson’s Trust to find a cure for Parkinson’s. Co-Founded in 2005 by Tom Isaacs, The Cure Parkinson’s Trust (CPT) is a charitable organisation created by and for people living with Parkinson’s. CPT has one bold aim – to find a cure for Parkinson’s. CPT funds and supports pioneering research into new treatments which offer real hope of a cure to the more than 10 million people living with the condition worldwide.
Tom lived an inspirational life with Parkinson’s, devoted to the cause of CPT. He was passionate about the Cure3 project from the beginning and it was Tom’s description of living with Parkinson’s as feeling like being ‘boxed in’ that inspired Artwise with the concept from which Cure3 was borne. Tom passed away on May 31st, 2017 and Cure3 2018 is dedicated to his memory and incredible achievements.
Cure3 is devised by Susie Allen and Laura Culpan from Artwise, the dynamic curatorial team behind the original RCA Secret postcard project. Cure3 has established itself as a critical and commercial success, securing plaudits from a host of international media including SKY News, F.T, How To Spend It, The Evening Standard, The Sunday Times, The Observer Magazine, The Telegraph, The Art Newspaper, Wallpaper* and World of Interiors – as well as raising significant funds for the ongoing work of CPT.
