PARIS.- The Cest Fou! collection sold in three days totaled 9,375,250, selling 84% by lot and 87% by value. The top lot of the largest sale offered at
Christies France this year was a beautiful painting by Hermenegildo Anglada-Camarasa, La Gata Rosa, which sold for 703,500. Additional strong results were achieved for a marble figural group entitled Shooting Stars, by Vittorio Caradossi made circa 1900, which was sold 367,500 above its presale estimate, and LEternel Printemps by Auguste Rodin which sold for 307,500. The Asian Art section was particularly important and totaled 2,014,125. The top lot of this section was a pair of celadon Jade Twin Phoenix plaques which sold for 691,500.
Additionally, the château de Versailles preempted lot 183, an 18th century Meissen porcelain armorial chocolate cup and a saucer, from the service for Queen Marie Leszczynska which sold for 13,750.
