STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN: Photo shows one of the art decorated exits in the tunnels of Stockholm's "Sodra Lanken" (Southern Link) that was opened to traffic 24 October 2004 after seven years of construction to a cost of around 880 million euros. Some 60.000 cars will pass daily along the 6 km road, of which 4.5 km is in tunnels, in the south of Stockholm. In what is Sweden's largest tunnel project, priority has been given to safety and environment and drivers in the bright tunnels will have no meeting traffic with emergency exits to be found on every 100-150 meters along the road.
