A Complete Guide to Omega Seamaster Watches

Omega is a name that is synonymous with all quality watch lovers. The company was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt and the name was changed to Omega SA under the Swatch Group in 1982. Omega is used by celebrities in sports, cinema, science, and leadership and Pierce Brosnan, Buzz Aldrin, and Prince Williams.

The Omega Seamaster line was launched in 1948 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the brand which is why the Seamaster is the oldest category in the current Omega watches list. The professional range of Seamaster watches was launched in 1957 with the Seamaster 300 series.

Different Types of Seamaster Watches
There are plenty of variants of Seamaster watches which are made by Omega along with innumerable colors, movement, and casing sizes. The current major categories of Omega Seamaster watches available in the market are:

Seamaster Professional Diver
This professional diver's watch is also known as the 300M and is available in quartz movements. These are available in men's and ladies' models. The men's models come in two different variants, the classic skeleton hand, and the GMT style.

Seamaster Professional Chronograph
This is a professional chronograph watch and comes with automatic movement. It is a rather large and heavy watch that is available in titanium models of men's size only.

Seamaster Professional GMT
These professional-grade watches were introduced in 1998 and are based on automatic movement in men's sizes. It has a slight variation from the 300M model and features an additional GMT hand with a face and bezel.

Seamaster Aqua Terra
The model was introduced in 2003 in men's and ladies' versions with coaxial or quartz movements. There are three men size variants as well as ladies models for this Omega Seamaster watch.

Railmaster
Railmaster is a special variation of the Aqua Terra and pays tribute to the Aqua Terra series of watches. This watch is equipped with coaxial movements only and is available in 38, 41, and 49.2 sizes.

Main Features of the Omega Seamaster
There are several features which make these watches unique and some of these are highlighted below:

• The watches have a sporty look with a unique chronograph dial and come in a stainless steel case with a black dial

• Almost all bands come with a stainless steel band and case. The band has a woven dial design on each of its links. The product also comes with a dark blue dial and face. The dial comes with minute markers which are outside the hour markers which makes easy reading.

• The Omega Seamaster watches come with a quick set date feature and can easily advance from the stem. The date only clicks a fraction of a second ahead and changes after midnight.

The watch was made famous by Pierce Brosnan in the first James Bond movie Goldeneye in 1995. George Clooney is a great fan of the watch along with Daniel Craig. So, it can be easily seen why the Seamaster is preferred by millions of people and is a symbol of quality, luxury and vintage pride for every watch lover.
