NEW YORK, NY.- Sotheby’s and RM Sotheby’s concluded their sixth successful Online Only collector car auction with the sale of a no-reserve, retro-styled 1991 Nissan Figaro for a final $51,750 on 14 November, surpassing its pre-sale estimate of $35,000 - $45,000. Offered through Sotheby's digital auction platform, the car drew strong bidding activity from multiple bidders in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Asia.

Holding the unique distinction of being driven by Jerry Seinfeld on the popular Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee series, the charming city car comes to its new owner in wonderful condition throughout, finished in Pale Aqua, believed to be one of just 3,989 Figaros in this color and showing just over 9,000 km on the odometer.

Sotheby’s and RM Sotheby’s continue the Online Only auction series with the Classic Sports Cars Capsule auction, featuring two automobile lots, a 1976 Porsche 914 2.0 and a 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 4.2-Litre Roadster, now open for bidding at sothebys.com until 21 November at 2:00 pm EDT. Under single ownership until 2016, the well-preserved Porsche 914 presents very much in the way it left the factory, finished in correct Light Ivory paintwork, with a removeable black Targa top. Accompanied by extensive documentation, including service records and invoices, the 914 benefits for a recent no-expenses-spared restoration by marque experts. Powered by the peppy 2.0-liter engine paired with five-speed manual transaxle, the Porsche is truly a racecar built for the road, providing its passengers with an exhilarating driving experience (Est. $60,000 - $70,000, offered without reserve).

Joining the 914, the desirable Jaguar E-Type is offered from just three documented owners since new. Finished in correct Primrose Yellow accented by brilliant brightwork, the car rides on thin redline Michelin X radial tires mounted on knock-off wire wheels. Wearing a well-maintained frame-off restoration from the 1990s, it is powered by its original twin-cam 4.2-liter straight-six engine and shows less than 29,500 miles on the odometer. One of Jaguar’s—and the hobby’s—most iconic road cars, the Series 2 4.2-Litre Roadster would make an excellent addition to any sports car collection (Est. $110,000 - $140,000, offered without reserve).

Sotheby’s and RM Sotheby’s Online Only platform delivers the concierge-level service that both Sotheby’s and RM Sotheby’s are known for, providing clients with an honest assessment of the cars on offer via pre-purchase inspections and specialist condition reports that the companies stand behind, through to buyer transportation and the final transaction. Extensive photography, documentation, and the pre-purchase inspection are available at sothebys.com.
