NEW YORK, NY.- Christie’s will present Andy Warhol: Better Days, an online-only sale held in collaboration with the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts featuring original photography showcasing Warhol’s ability to capture the beauty of ordinary life. Proceeds from the sale will support the Foundation’s effort to provide emergency relief to artists throughout the US. The sale will be open for bidding from April 28 – May 6 and is now open for browsing here.

Featuring 60 unique photographs, the works encompassed here were each chosen for their ability to transport the viewer to better days, underscoring the splendor of the outdoors and the simple pleasures associated with human interaction. The works were carefully selected by Michael Dayton Hermann, Director of Licensing, Marketing and Sales at the Warhol Foundation in coordination with Christie’s. Hermann said, “We are delighted to work with Christie’s to enhance the Foundation’s ability to continue to invest in society when it needs it most. This unique sale focuses on works which celebrate Warhol’s uncanny ability to draw attention to the inspiring artistry of ordinary life.”

The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts has embarked on several simultaneous efforts to provide emergency relief to artists during the COVID-19 pandemic. It has mobilized its Regional Re- granting network to make emergency grants in sixteen cities across the country and it has dedicated support to both the Foundation for Contemporary Arts’ Emergency Grant COVID-19 Fund and to Artist Relief, a new coalition of national grant makers offering emergency resources to artists in need. These efforts represent a $2.6 million commitment on the part of the Foundation to address the crisis related needs of the nation’s artists. The proceeds from Andy Warhol: Better Days will support the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to provide emergency support to artists throughout the country.

“You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you, suddenly thrill you.” Andy Warhol
