Yes, you can install
cheap antivirus software on all Windows XP and Windows 7 recorders.
The manufacturer supports the installation of antivirus software on a recorder. We recommend
mcafee antivirus 1 pc cheap, Symantec or Microsoft Security Essentials software. They have all been tested and work well with the operating parameters of our DVR.
Automatic protection is recommended, as is automatic updating on the Internet or on a network virus definition server. When using automatic update, you may need to restart the DVR for some of the patches/updates to take effect. This is not normally required for standard virus definition updates. However, there are occasional updates to the antivirus software engine that require a system restart.
In this case, we recommend that a weekly scheduled restart be configured when installing and configuring antivirus software on a DVR system. This can be done in the DVR setup menu.
Antivirus software is not recommended to perform scheduled scans of hard drives on data drives. This affects the performance of the DVR device, as well as other potential problems.
The DVR software depends on the processor and I/O. If the antivirus software scans the data players during video recording, this can cause image loss. Data drive scanning can also cause problems because the data files are constantly updated and written. Antivirus software tries to scan these files again after each data modification during video recording. Due to the issues mentioned above, we do not recommend scheduled or regular scans of data readers.
