LONDON.- Kovet.Art was founded to discover and nurture artistic talent by combining art market expertise with a rigorous development programme for emerging artists. Working with a select number of top-class art degree students per year, Kovet.Art provides them with a system that includes both strategic guidance and practical support from an expert in house team and visiting lecturers, to develop their practice and profile.
Kovet.Art is dedicated to building a strong roster of outstanding young artists that are pushing boundaries of their practice in meaningful ways. To supports its mission, Kovet.Art is aligned with several of the UK’s leading art colleges who will be developed into campus partners, including: Slade School of Art, Central Saint Martins, the University of Leeds and Camberwell College of Arts.
Delineating Dreams, the first in exhibition in Kovet.Art’s programme, features work by eight artists who exemplify the dynamism of the UK’s emerging artscene: Kristy M Chan; Tom Faber; Max Gimson; Candice Jewell; Christopher Pearson; Giovanna Petrocchi; Loreal Prystaj; and Janet Waring Rago. Ranging from photography and painting to printmaking, the artworks in the exhibition move from figuration to abstraction with rich, dream-like representations that suggest notions of the conscious and subconscious. In Reflecting on Nature, Loreal Prystaj uses mirrors as tools to examine our relationship to nature. By placing herself in various settings, she creates connections between the physical environment and our internal states. In Christopher Pearson’s Metallic Gestures print series, the lustre ofsilver, gold and copper evoke the ethereal qualities of dreams. By reflecting and distorting the viewer and their environment, the monochromatic sheen creates a dialogue between the movement and instantaneity of ‘real time’ and ‘frozen gestures’ captured in each embossing.
Kovet.Art will stage four exhibitions a year, enabling collectors to discover works by artists making their mark. They also become part of the vibrant Kovet community and members club (KLUB) through its regular talks and panels. Whilst predominantly an online platform, Kovet.Art will also host physical pop-up exhibitions, initially in central London.
A post-COVID world has seen the artworld rapidly pivot towards online and digital content. It’s within this world that Kovet.Art seeks to create and inspire a new community of art lovers whilst building trust. Kovet.Art is the first gallery of emerging art where the provenance and certification of artworks is backed by blockchain – creating a new standard for sales, authentication and royaltiesfor the artists from the outset of their careers.
