Two Major Endowments Ensure Curatorial Activities |

HANOVER, NH.- The Hood Museum of Art celebrates the creation of two major endowments that will help ensure essential curatorial activities at the museum long into the future. These endowments represent a substantial confidence and commitment on the part of our supporters. Jonathan L. Cohen (Dartmouth 60, Tuck 61) has created a new endowment that supports the Curator of American Art position, while The Charles H. Hood Family Foundation has announced its plans to endow the position of Curator of Education.
Former director Derrick Cartwright noted, "We are fortunate beyond words to count on individuals who believe deeply in what we are doing and who are eager to have a direct, enduring impact on our professional practices. What John Cohen and The Hood Family Foundation have done is hugely inspirational. By endowing these posts, they have affirmed the quality of work performed by our team, and they have made certain that we will continue to accomplish great things in perpetuity here. That fact that Jon Cohen and Charles Hood (President of the Foundation) are such close, long-term friends of the institution makes their philanthropy still more meaningful."
Barbara J. MacAdam and Lesley Wellman currently occupy the positions that will soon be renamed The Jonathan L. Cohen Curator of American Art and The Hood Foundation Curator of Education, respectively.
