The growing industry that is the NJ casino industry

Over the last ten years, the New Jersey casino and gambling industry has come on leaps and bounds.

While it may be a tourist attraction itself, other than the ever so popular Atlantic City, known for its bachelor parties, casinos, and nightlife, New Jersey hosts many other tourist attractions including the George Washington Bridge, Liberty State Park, and the adventure aquarium.

However, we all know it’s about the casinos, I mean… come on’.

In 2013, New Jersey approved online casinos with the signing of Senate Bill S1565 and Assembly Bill A2579. This transformed the world of gambling, not only was Atlantic city a growing attraction already but now casinos in Atlantic City and New Jersey were able to host online casinos in New Jersey with thousands of extra customers flocking through their doors, this time virtual ones too.

However, although online casinos were now approved, alongside the growing trend of Atlantic City in general, Donald Trump’s casino empire in Atlantic City somehow still failed. Although that is another story entirely.

Just something to consider.

The online casino and gambling sites operating in New Jersey are each individually licensed by the New Jersey Division of Gambling Enforcement. This whole host of sites offer a variety of different table games, slots, jackpots to be won, and more.

The introduction of sports betting in 2018
Many casinos appear to be slowly incorporating sports betting markets - we don’t blame them either, the industry is huge, tapping into millions of potential more customers.

In 2018, New Jersey launched retail sports betting, both in-person and online. This exploded with traction, with customers thriving on the action, placing bets on the football, tennis, rugby union, and everything in-between.

It was safe to say it was a hit.

In future years, we can expect an even bigger rise in the sports betting industry, both of those hosted and legal in New Jersey, and those across the United States and the rest of the world.

Online casinos in New Jersey dominate nowadays
Although Atlantic City may be a popular tourist attraction, for many reasons, online casinos in New Jersey appear to be the way forward, dominating the online casino market nowadays.

This is especially true given the recent coronavirus pandemic, casinos may be closed but keen punters can still head online for a piece of the action, trying their hand at a mix of card games, newly released slots, sports betting, and more.
