Popular smartphone cases Flip cases and wallet cases

Flip cases and wallet cases have gained immense popularity in the phone case business. With them, consumers get the most essential features all in one case. A consumer is guaranteed a 99% chance that their phone is shielded from accidental drops, scratches, and dents. These in-demand cases have undoubtedly played a huge role in the evolution of phone cases.

Take, for instance, flip cases that have a front flip. They are designed to protect the front and have another attachment for the back of the phone.

Wallet cases aren’t so different either, just that they’re designed in a pouch-like form with slots inside them for credit cards, money, light documents among others. Wallet cases can also be attached to a belt for more convenience.

In this article, we’ll be discussing the different qualities of flip cases and wallet cases with special emphasis on quality and durability. Included also are the disadvantages and advantages of flip and wallet cases.

Flip cases

Flip mobile phone cases aren’t the most durable cases on the market. Unlike cases like silicon, plastic, and tough, flip cases require extra maintenance. The flip case may be popular for offering the needed screen protection, however, it’s also more susceptible to damages caused by prolonged exposure to water and dust. This is so, especially if its leather type.

Constant exposure to water and dust reduces their life span. That’s why it’s always a good idea to clean it more often because if not, then expect a change in the original bright colors(pink, blue, deep green, and others) to a more washed-out version.

Yes, flip cases indeed offer some level of all-around phone protection, however, the feel of original leather on the front flip gives a taste of sophistication and class.

The inside is also specially designed with a TPU case to provide shock absorption should the smartphone drops. It will also safeguard the phone against scratches and dents during impact.

Like every other phone case out there, flip cases also have advantages and disadvantages as explained below.

  • They prevent unintended in-puts

Users tend to accidentally input certain commands say when the phone is in the pocket or bag. With flip cases, chances of this happening are minimized because the front screen is always covered.

  • Facilitate easy answering of calls

Some versions have an open window at the front to ease the answering of calls and checking on time.

  • Can be transformed into a stand

They can be flipped or tilted to the side for the user who prefers watching a movie or generally just doing their work without having to hold the phone

  • A select design have inbuilt pockets

Users can store credit cards, IDs, money, and any other loose documents inside these provisions.

  • They are more expensive

Compared to other cases like plastic and silicon, flip cases are more expensive to buy because of their quality and protection.

  • The flip case doesn’t give an appealing look

This is because of the many layers imbedded within the case to protect the phone against drops. Their design ends up swallowing the phone completely which may not look as nice.

  • Those that lack a magnet on the flip are inconveniencing.

The magnet is intended to hold the flip in position so that it doesn’t open and close anyhow. Invest in a flip case that has one to avoid such inconveniences.

Wallet cases.

Wallet cases are popularly known for their pouch-like build. One of the reasons that make them popular is their accommodative nature. They are a great recommendation for the consumer who hates clutter and prefers to have the essential items in eyes reach. They offer up to three card slots.

Original leather material wallet cases are durable more especially when the back cover is made of polycarbonate plastic. The fact that most of them can be attached to a belt or something else, reduces the chances of a drop or slip. If handled properly, the wallet case can last a lifetime.

Their leathery nature is designed with an extra-rugged feel to minimize changes of slip and drop. With a wallet case, consumers have more assurance that their phones won’t drop. Even if they do, there won’t be so many scratches.

Important to also note is that they come in many unique designs, i.e. the regular silicone case but with slots for credit cards and other small items, others designs have a flip, the other lot are like a real wallet with a provision to attach them onto something.

Wallet cases too have advantages and disadvantages as explained below.

  • They offer all-round protection.

Wallet cases protect the front and back part of the phone in case it drops accidentally.

  • They are popular for their convenience.

With a wallet case, chances are high that most of your essential items will fit. You won’t have to carry another extra wallet.

  • Their design fits most phones.

This is most so for phone users that have failed to find the perfect cover to fit their phones. Wallet cases are the solution because they have unique designs to fit almost any phone.

  • They are stylish.

Wallet cases offer a combination of style and all-around device protection all in one pouch.

  • Wallet cases are bulky

They feel too heavy to be carried around in the pocket. When you overload the inside provisions with many credit cards, money, and other items it will just be inconveniencing to carry around. Avoid stashing too many items in your wallet case because it will not only be heavier but will make it grow old faster.

  • Important items can get lost all at once

Picture a situation where you misplace your wallet and yet it has all the important credit cards, ids, and money. It would be such a great loss. Instead, always put one credit card, little money rather than the entire lot.

There’s a common myth that wallet cases and even some flip cases are designed for women. This isn’t true at all. Men and women can use these cases because what matters is if they can deliver to your expectations. Now that you know what makes the wallet and flip case, so popular, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to invest in one.
