Innovative new technology will connect the art world in a radical way
This new partnership will combine their deep appreciation of the art world with the latest VR technology - delivering something radically new to the cultural community.

LICHFIELD.- The coronavirus social distancing rules have severely disrupted the ability of artists, art fairs, institutions and their patrons to engage in a purposeful way.

But now, by harnessing the latest technology in the form of cutting-edge virtual reality, there is a way to create a truly immersive experience and ensure meaningful connections, even when travel isn’t possible in these uncertain times. This goes beyond anything currently available and is far more powerful than a simple online platform, it is world-class custom content delivered in an innovative way.

For almost 10 years, Arts & Travel has operated internationally; connecting artists, galleries and art fairs with collectors, museum directors and curators. They have seen the devastation that the pandemic has caused to performers and artists, and by partnering with Art World VR have devised a solution. Art World VR uses the very latest virtual reality technology and clients will have the ability to travel virtually to art fairs, galleries, museums and artist studios all without leaving the comfort of their arm chair.

Alex Conti, Director of Arts & Travel said: “We know how much our clients have missed indulging in art over these difficult months, and we are delighted to be working with Art World VR to offer a solution. By using ultra high-resolution 360 imagery, art fair spaces will be brought to life with a truly mesmerising experience. Links to works and artist information, together with unique virtual reality videos of artists working in their studios, will make it feel like our clients are there alongside them.”

Whilst Arts & Travel understands this technology will not replace excursions, the effects of the pandemic has simply accelerated their plans to provide enhanced eco-friendly travel options and tools for engagement. This enables people who may be hesitant or unable to travel, to plug in to the incredible experiences that the art world provides – even when life returns to a ‘new normal’.

It is a fantastic opportunity for art fairs, galleries and artists to engage with their eager, but hard to reach clients in these difficult times, and gives them the platform to showcase their work. There is also a provision for live events such as openings, director introductions or artist talks and an archival system for returning to past events or studio tours.
