The Positives of Live Streaming for Schools

Almost every quarter, new technologies are coming out that are improving different industries. The education industry is one sector where technology is making life better for students and teachers alike. Learning applications are making lessons more fun, and assessments are also more timely as the software can quickly compute results. One more example of quickly computing result is when you pay for dissertation. It will be done so fast so you can have more free time.

One area, however, that not all schools are taking advantage of is live streaming. Because of perceived hassles or the need for privacy, many institutions prefer that faculty, students, and parents attend in person. But as many other schools have discovered (even before the COVID pandemic), live streaming can be a big boost to schools.

The following are some positives of live streaming for schools.

#1 It encourages attendance (even if it is remote)
Students attend class because missing it may mean failure due to the number of absences. But when something is NOT required (a special lecture, a seminar for additional information, or a school play), many students and even faculty members choose not to go.

Live-streaming such events, however, is one way to entice people to “attend” the event online. Although the speaker may not see the whole audience, at least the school population is benefiting from the event. And who knows, if they enjoyed the live-stream, they might choose to attend in person the next time around.

For parents and administrators, live-streaming a Parent-Teacher Conference or a school announcement is a great way to get parents more involved, especially if there is a way to field questions remotely. It is a better alternative to just announcing things in a newsletter for those who missed it.

#2 It’s a way to record school events
Although some teachers might not feel the need to record every graduation, varsity game, school play, or school dance, the students and parents will greatly appreciate being able to relive such moments. So aside from encouraging attendance, live-streaming is a way to record important activities during the school year.

#3 It strengthens the school community
Events that are broadcasted live are not just seen by the current set of students, parents, and teachers, they are also viewed by alumni. Thus, live-streaming school events can strengthen the bond between alumni and the school, which may bring the local community together. And if alumni can remember the fun and pride of being a student before, they may even be able to support the school’s current projects, whether in cash or kind.

#4 It entices other entities to get involved
It’s not just the alumni’s support that live-streaming can drum up. Many businesses are always on the lookout for schools that they can help. Aside from showing consumers that they are socially responsible, a solid school community can be a great source of potential customers.

Thus, live-streaming events is one way to ensure corporate sponsors that the school’s reach goes beyond the walls of the school. It tells them that former students and employees, as well as interested community members, are probably watching, which is something businesses are after.

Summary
Live-streaming is a great way to get the entire school community involved. Schools should consider its advantages to strengthen school participation and interest.
