A Beginner's Guide to Mailing Envelopes and Shipping Boxes

According to www.bestbuyenvelopes.uk, your e-commerce business's success depends on your ability to ship your products to clients effectively. A recent survey revealed that 73 percent of both online and offline shoppers wouldn't purchase from a specific store if they had any previous purchases from the store if an item arrived damaged.

To ensure that your products are delivered safely, it's important to know more whether you need envelopes or shipping boxes, choose a packaging that resonates with your brand and ensures that your products are delivered safely.

Types of packaging for businesses
There are different types of packing that you can use. This article will focus on two types – envelopes and shipping boxes.

1. Mailing envelopes
This is one of the common packaging among both online and offline businesses. The main benefits of using envelopes include;

• The materials used in making envelopes are affordable. That makes envelopes an affordable packaging option.

• Envelopes take up less space. This reduces the required storage and overall shipping costs.

• Unlike shipping boxes, you don't need to set up or tape an envelope. Remember, most envelopes usually come with inbuilt peel and seal strips. Thus, they reduce the amount of packaging labor necessary to pack and ship your products.

• Lastly, envelopes are flexible. This allows you to use various sizes of envelopes, depending on what you intend to pack.

It's important to mention that envelopes are limited in their capacity. Thus, they are best suited for light and sturdy items like jewelry and apparel. One of the important choices you will have to make regarding mailing envelopes is whether they will be cushioned or non-cushioned. The former offers more protection compared to non-cushioned envelopes, which are more affordable.

2. Shipping boxes
As mentioned earlier, envelopes are not the ultimate choice, particularly for heavy or large products. In this case, you need high-quality boxes. One of the important aspects to consider when choosing a shipping box for shipping a certain product is its size. You don't want a box that's too big for whatever you want to ship. This is because the product can easily be damaged due to frequent sliding and hitting the box walls. Also, some clients don't love waste.

Choosing a smaller box means that the product may not fit in it. It would be best if you had a shipping box with sufficient space for the product you intend to ship and still has space for cushioning in case you're shipping a product that should be protected from the impact of the box walls.

Wrap up
As mentioned earlier, the success of your business depends on how well you treat your clients. Effective product packaging and shipping creates a better customer experience. That means acquiring the right mailing envelopes, and shipping boxes have a direct positive impact on customer experience. Do you now understand why you should pay attention to the nature of envelopes or shipping boxes your business uses?
