LEON, SPAIN.- The Princes of Asturias inaugurated the new Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León (MUSAC), a space dedicated to experimental artistic creation looking into the future. It has taken three years and more than 33 million euros to build this museum. It has a surface of 3,400 square meters. Princes Felipe and Letizia Princess walked around the museum together with Juan Vicente Herrera, president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Silvia Clemente, Culture Counselor and Mario Amilivia, mayor of León.
The museum was designed by architects Luis M. Mansilla and Emilio Tuñón, from Madrid and winners of the National Architecture Award for 2003. The building was inspired on geometry from old Roman streets. The building is located in the most modern area of León. The front of the museum has a wide variety of colors, 37.
