GRAND RAPIDS, MI.- The Gerald R. Ford Library will present Churchill and the Great Republic from Saturday, April 9, 2005 - Sunday, June 5, 2005. Churchill and the Great Republic, the exhibit that began in early 2004 at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC, and then was in Omaha, NE, from October to December, travels next to the Gerald R. Ford Library and Museum in Grand Rapids, MI.
This exhibition examines the life and career of Winston Churchill and empahsizes his lifelong links with the United States--the nation he called "the Great Republic." The exhibition comes nearly forty years after Churchill's death and sixty years after the D-Day allied invasion of Nazi-occupied France during World War II. It commemorates both of these events.
