SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- Turner Auctions + Appraisals is pleased to present Fine Art, Russian Silver, and Jewelry on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 10:30 am PST. Among the many artworks are paintings, etchings, lithographs and mixed media by noted artists from the 18th to 21st centuries, including Charles Paul Gruppé, Alson Skinner Clark, William Keith, Mary DeNeale Morgan, David Alfaro Siqueiros, and Charles L. A. Smith – plus several religious and colonial paintings from the 18th century. A selection of bronzes is also on offer, after Frederick Remington, Auguste Rodin, and Dimitri Haralamb Chiparus. A highlight among the artworks is a bas-relief sculpture by Pierre Auguste Renoir, posthumously cast from the original terra-cotta piece.

The sale also features an inviting array of Russian enamel silver, including a desk set, tea service, beakers, box, goblet, kovsh, dishes, candlesticks, multiple eggs, and more. Jewelry includes necklaces, pendants, earrings, bracelets, and rings. Most feature gold or silver and precious or semi-precious stones, such as diamonds, rubies, emeralds, jade, blue topaz, sapphires, pearls, jade, citrine, tourmaline, lapis lazuli, onyx or others. Watches and numerous groupings of vintage or costume jewelry are also available. Completing the sale are several pieces of Italian art glass.

Turner Auctions + Appraisals begins its online auction on Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 10:30 am PST; sale items are available for preview and bidding now. The auction will be featured live on multiple platforms: LiveAuctioneers, Invaluable, Bidsquare, iCollector, and Turner Auctions + Appraisals’ free mobile app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Apps ("Turner Auctions"). Lot 7: Christian Walter (American, 1872-1938) Title: Coastal Scene. Medium: Oil on canvas. Signed: Lower right Size: 22 x 27 in. Frame: 26 x 31 in. Condition: In good condition. Stretcher bar marks. Scattered minor abrasions. Some surface soiling. Estimate $1,500 - $2,500.

Lot 131: An Early 20th-Century Russian Enamel Silver Egg Covered with Floral Patterns. The egg is gilded inside. Russian Hallmarks. Size: 5 in. Overall condition good. Estimate $500 - $700.

Lot 180: Blue Topaz, Diamond, Onyx, 18k Pendant-Enhancer. The pendant-enhancer featuring a calf's-head-cut blue topaz measuring approximately 23.0 x 20.0 x 10.4mm and weighing approximately 45.0cts; accented by 98 round brilliant-cut diamonds and black onyx; estimated total diamond weight: 1.95cts., G-H-I/VS-SI; designed with hidden clasps for use as necklace clasp; gross weight approximately 29 grams; measuring 2 3/4 x 2 3/4in. Estimate $1,000 - $1,500.

Lot 56: Alson Skinner Clark (American, 1876-1949) Title: Senorita. Medium: Oil on canvas affixed to board. Signed: Lower right Size: 24 x 20 in. Frame: 31 1/4 x 27 1/4 in. Condition: In good condition. The canvas is slightly buckled near the edges. Scattered craquelure. Estimate $2,000 - $3,000.




Lot 114: After Dimitri Haralamb Chiparus (Romanian, 1886-1946) Title: Fan Dancer. Medium: Bronze with green and red patina and French ivory with pigment on a marble base Signed: Inscribed 'D.H. Chiparus' on the top of the base. Size: Height with base: 21 1/2 in. (width with base 21 1/2 in., depth with base 5 in.). Sculpture height 16 1/2 x 16 x 4 in. Condition: In good condition. There are a few minor abrasions to the marble base and some loss where the figure's left foot meets the base and a small area of loss to the front of the marble base. Surface soiling. Estimate $1,000 - $2,000.

Lot 52: After William Keith (American, 1838-1911). Title: Shepherd and Sheep. Medium: Oil on canvas. Signed: Bears signature lower right and inscribed 'S.F.' Size: 20 1/4 x 30 1/4 in. Frame: 33 1/4 x 43 1/4 in. Condition: In good condition. Wax lined canvas. There is an approximately 1 in. diagonal abrasion lower right. Minor frame abrasion particularly along the lower edge. Estimate $1,200 - $1,800.

Lot 145: A Pair of Early 20th-Century Russian Enamel Silver Candlesticks with Floral Patterns. Russian Hallmarks. Size: 6" each. Overall condition good. Estimate $500 - $700.

Lot 173: Pair of Sapphire, Diamond and 14k Bi-Color Gold. The antique-style drop earrings each center an oval-shaped sapphire surrounded by 16 round brilliant-cut diamonds; estimated total diamond weight: 2.00cts., I-J-K/VS-SI; weighing approximately 11.8 grams; length: 1in. Estimate $1,000 - $1,500.

Lot 58: Mary DeNeale Morgan (American, 1868-1948) Title: Wind Swept Pines, Moss Beach Dunes. Medium: Watercolor and gouache on paper. Signed: Lower right and titled on the reverse. Size: Sight: 18 x 13 1/4 in. Frame: 26 1/2 x 22 in. Condition: In apparently very good condition. Faint time and light staining. Not examined outside of frame. Estimate: $800 - $1,200.

Lot 103: 18th-Century Colonial Painting. Artist: Unsigned. Subject/Title: An 18th-century colonial depiction of Mary and the Christ Child. Medium: Oil on canvas. Size Image: 41 1/2 inches high x 32 1/2. Size Frame: 46 inches high x 37. Condition: Over all good, minor 18th century repairs. Estimate $700 - $900.

Lot 6: Charles Paul Gruppé (American, 1860-1940). Title: Farmhouse Scene. Medium: Oil on canvas. Signed: Lower right. Size: 25 1/4 x 20 1/4 in. Frame: 29 1/2 x 34 1/2 in. Condition: Very good. Minor stretcher bar marks. Estimate: $800 - $1,200.

Lot 109: Pierre Auguste Renoir (French, 1841-1919). Title: Woman with Tambourine III (La Danseuse au Tambourin). Medium: Bas relief bronze sculpture, posthumously cast from the original terra-cotta. Inscribed: Renoir, lower right. Edition: 149 of 220. Size: 29 3/4 x 17 1/2 in. x 2 1/2 in. Frame: 36 1/4 x 24 3/4 in. Provenance: Sale, Parker & Parker, NY, June 1984. Condition: In excellent condition. No apparent problems to note. Note: Woman with Tambourine III is the last of seventeen total sculptures that Renoir created in his career. It has been authenticated by Claude Renoir, the sculptor's grandson, as well as experts from Sotheby's, Christie's and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. A certificate of authenticity, signed by Claude Renoir and stamped by S.P.A.D.E.M., the organization that protects the rights of the artist, accompanies this lot. Estimate: $6,000 - $8,000.

Lot 137: An early 20th-century Russian Enamel Silver Seven-Piece Desk Set Covered with Floral Patterns. Russian Hallmarks. Size: Ink stand with pen holders (Largest example) 6" x 13.5" x 8.25" Overall condition good. Estimate $1,500 - $2,500.
