LONDON, ENGLAND.- Ceramic Art London 2005 is a brand new event, dedicated to showcasing excellence for ceramics in the UK and abroad. A dedicated student exhibition will also put the spotlight on up and coming talent within the Ceramics and Glass Department at the Royal College of Art. The exhibition is in association with the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain and Ceramic Review magazine.
Ceramic Art London, is for everyone, those who are already passionate about contemporary ceramics and for those who want to know more. Highlights will be:
A selling exhibition, with pieces by over 80 outstanding ceramic artists selected for the excellence and diversity of their work. Visit our Exhibitor Gallery for a preview. With prices ranging from £30 to £30,000, the event has something for everyone.
A free Event Programme. Each day will have a mixture of demonstrations, talks, discussions and films of makers at work. Major participants include:
Talks on their work by Turner Prize Winner Grayson Perry and from acclaimed maker Kate Malone
Talk on Bernard Leach by Emmanuel Cooper OBE, author and editor of Ceramic Review
Demonstrations: from outstanding ceramic artists Walter Keeler and Takeshi Yasuda.
Talk by Henry Sandon from the BBC Antiques Roadshow on collecting ceramics for the future.
A cookery demonstration by author and cookery expert Sophie Grigson using studio ceramics selected from the show.
Exhibition by current RCA Ceramics students showing the future of studio ceramics.
