VENICE, CA.- This Saturday, May 21, Noon – 4 p.m. will take place Venice Art Walk "on The Fringe" Art and Architecture Tour. This event is a prelude to the actual 2005 Venice Art Walk taking place Sunday, May 22.

The 2005 Venice Art Walk “On the Fringe” tour will showcase studios of notable artists and architecturally distinctive homes “on the fringe” of the Venice Art Walk area featured on Sunday, May 22. Artists and docents will provide information at each of the nine locations.

The Venice Canals Architectural Homes tour will feature homes designed by architects Steven Ehrlich, Glen Irani, Michele Saee and Vaughan Trammell. Also on the tour will be Switch Studios, a creative workspace and digital cinema facility created from a former corner market.

The Victoria Avenue Artist Studios tour will feature studios of Robert Berger (architectural and travel photographer); Ron Griffin (mixed media paintings, representations of juxtaposed found paper objects); Jeremy Kidd (mixed media painting, altered environments, installations); Susan Narduli (installation artist and architect); and Marischa Slusarski (figurative painting and collaborative photography).

As an added attraction, “On the Fringe” tour participants can view “Bridges and beyond,” a special Venice Art Walk exhibit featuring works by eight Los Angeles area artists who have created site-specific installations for the walkways and bridges along the nearby canals in observance of the 100th anniversary of Venice.

A map of tour locations will be provided via mail to advance ticket buyers. Day-of-tour ticket buyers can purchase tickets and pick up maps at Westminster School, 1010 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice, CA 90291.

Tickets for "On the Fringe" Tour are $75 per person. Ticket holders are also invited to a special Art Auction preview at Westminster School at the conclusion of the tour.
