Dry Eyes? Warming Eye Mask Could be a Game-Changer

Dry eyes have become a prominent issue in today's era. People of all ages struggle with dry eyes; perhaps the reason may differ. A warming eye mask is a lifesaver and is used by people around the world. However, it's always suggested to look for the optometrist recommended eye mask. Let's understand in depth how it could be a game-changer.

Why Opt for a Dry Eyes Mask?

➤Loosens Clogged Oils
The utmost reason for dry eyes is the Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). It's a chronic condition that affects the eyelid's meibomian glands, which release oil to build tear film. The oil is essential to prevent tears from evaporating quickly. The frequent evaporation of tears leads to dry eyes. Here, a heatable eye mask comes in handy to loosen the clogged oils. The mask stabilizes the tear film, keeping the eyes moist for long hours. The mask is highly beneficial as it brings immediate relief.

➤Hydrates Sensitive Eyelids
If not treated on time, dry eyes can end up with painful eyelids. Eyelids are quite sensitive; if not get properly lubricated, then blinking can lead to discomfort. The relief eye mask hydrates the eyelids with every use. The moisture can make your eyelid feel highly better, which you can easily feel once you remove the mask.

➤Heal Faster than Eye Drops
Generally, people use eye drops instead of eye masks which take time to heal. Even putting on eye drops is a bit difficult. This is the primary reason that people are using a warm eye mask for dry eyes and replacing eye drops. All you need to do is just place the mask on your eyes and relax on the bed.

➤Provides Allergy Relief
Another advantage of using a warm compress eye mask is that it's anti-allergic. In the market, you can also get a cold eye mask, but a heated eye mask is highly beneficial. However, some people switch the mask for better relief from the painful symptoms. As the mask is hypoallergenic, you don't have to worry about the acute reaction on the first go. In case it occurs, then you can stop the use.

➤Short Treatment Time
A dry eye mask is a short treatment time therapy. On the first use, within 5-6 minutes, you will start feeling the relief of symptoms. People with mild symptoms can use it once, but people dealing with a medium to acute condition must use an eye mask 2 or 3 times a day. Make sure to use it at night before sleep; it works pretty well.

Also Learn, Why Warm Compresses Work
Warmth is considered soothing & a good source of healing for our body. It removes the pain and increases circulation, which makes the healing at a fast pace. It's not that cold compress should never be used, but warm compress eye masks work better when it's about dry eyes. It gives better lubrication to the eyes that remove the symptoms and make the eye glands healthy.

Last Shot
Earlier, people used to do warm eye mask therapy at home. They used clean cloth and soaked it in warm water and lastly put it on their eyes. Some people heat the cloth in a microwave, but it's dangerous. You never know you can end up with high heat, which can cause burns. So, get a heated eye mask that sets the temperature accordingly, and you don't need to worry about burns.

A dry eye condition should never be overlooked; if not treated, it can lead to vision loss. Of course, nobody wants to, so avail of the benefits of the heated eye mask suggested by an optometrist.
