BRUSSELS, BELGIUM.- Usagexterne presents the Belgian Young Designer Award, fourth year, on view through August 27, 2005. The Belgian Young Designer Award, organised by Usagexterne, the gallery of young creators of the French Community of Belgium in collaboration with « Designed in Brussels » and Déco Idées is already in its four year.

The aim of this award is to support young creators by giving them the opportunity to exhibit their creations and meet the public in the hope that this will lead to concrete openings for them.

As in previous years, Olivier Gilson has met numerous young designers, from whom he has selected ten. The winners were decided by a jury of international professionals: The edition of an object via « Designed in Brussels » : winner Gauthier Poulain; A one-week summer workshop at Vitra in Boisbuchet: winner Joachim de Callataÿ; An exhibition space at the at the Home and Objects Exhibition in Paris, offered by Déco Idées: winner Guillaume Escallier

The jury: Mrs Alice Morgaine, Director of Verrière Hermès; Mr Dirk Meylaerts, Designer; Mr Max Borca, Artistic Director of « Design Brussels » Fair; Mrs Marielle Paquay, Artistic Director of « Elle Belgique »; Mr Remy Schepens, General Manager at Vitra Belgium; Mr Olivier Gilson, Designer; Mrs Audrey Snauwaert, Editor of the magazine Déco Idées; and Mr Nicolas Delvaulx, Director of Usagexterne.
