Damien Hirst Criticized for New Project |

Image of forensic experts outside of Alistair Wilson's home.

LONDON, ENGLAND.- Artist Damien Hirst will recreate on a painting an image of forensic experts outside of the home of Alistair Wilson, Bank of Scotland business manager who was shot dead in November. Hirsts spokeswoman confirmed he wants to paint this for a new exhibition on photorealism.
But detectives investigating the shooting stated that Hirst`s project would cause distress to the Wilson family.
The Northern Constabulary issued this statement: "While we understand that artists need to be controversial, the subject matter is highly insensitive and distressing not only to the family but the officers searching to find Alistair`s killer."
The office of Damien Hirst has already requested permission from freelance photographer Peter Jolly to see if they could reproduce his photo of forensic teams on the steps of the Wilsons` home.
