NEW YORK, NY.- On November 12, Christie’s New York will hold its two session Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale featuring 286 works from masters spanning the 20th and 21st century. Among the highlights are works by post-war icons including Mark Rothko, Jean-Paul Riopelle, Jean Dubuffet, Helen Frankenthaler and Andy Warhol as well as a strong selection by cutting-edge contemporary visionaries including Harold Ancart, Jean-Michel Basquiat, George Condo, Keith Haring and Rashid Johnson. In total, the sale is expected to realize $52,607,000 – $76,026,000. The auction begins on Friday, November 12 at 10am, with the second session resuming at 2pm.Viewing is by appointment only from October 30 – November 11.

Leading the sale is Rothko’s Untitled, 1961 (estimate: $2,500,000 - $3,500,000). This magnificent canvas is a part of the grouping An Extraordinary Eye: Property from the Collection of June Roth, a fantastic subsection in the auction. The sale features highlights from several additional distinguished American collections, including Property from the Collection of Anne and Kirk Douglas, IMAGE WORLD: Property from a Private American Collection, and Always in Style: Property from the Collection of Herbert Kasper, which includes Rene Ricard, 1984 by Basquiat (estimate: $800,000 - $1,200,000), another outstanding sale highlight.

The auction presents three groupings that dedicated to charitable initiatives: Unquestioning Love: An Auction to Benefit the New York City Aids Memorial features sixteen works, Property Sold to Benefit LAXART contains six works, and Property Sold to Benefit the Public Art Fund is comprised of four works. Many of the extraordinary contemporary artworks included in all three of the groups were generously donated directly by the artists.

• KEITH HARING (1958-1990), Untitled, signed and dated 'K. Haring Oct. 17–85 ⊕ ©' (on the reverse), oil and acrylic on shaped canvas, diameter: 36 in. (91.4 cm.) Painted in 1985. This work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the Estate of Keith Haring with the identification number 020805A7. $900,000 – $1,200,000

• GEORGE CONDO (B. 1957), Superman, signed and dated 'Condo 05' (upper left); signed again, titled and dated again 'Condo 05 Superman' (on the reverse), oil on canvas, 32 x 28 in. (81.3 x 71.1 cm.) Painted in 2005. $500,000 - $700,000
