Getting to Know the Museums of Pennsylvania

When people think of Pennsylvania, they think of one of three things; Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, or trees in between. That being said, there is so much more to Pennsylvania than meets the eye. For example, Pennsylvania has some of the coolest and most unique museums in the entire country.

Below is a list of cool museums that you might want to check out on your visit to Pennsylvania.

Andy Warhol
One of the greatest American Artists happens to be Andy Warhol. You may know him for his obscure work having to do with Campbell's soup cans, one of his more famous pieces. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, there is a museum dedicated entirely to the work of Andy Warhol.

Warhol grew up in Pittsburgh, and the people of the city thought it would be a good idea to commemorate his work with a museum dedicated solely to him. As a result, the Andy Warhol Museum is the largest museum in the nation that is dedicated to one singular artist.

National Civil War Museum
Located in Gettysburg, PA, the National Civil War Museum is a tribute to all parts of the civil war that have to do with Pennsylvania. If you have never been to the Civil War Museum in Gettysburg, you may think that it is just a tribute to the battle of Gettysburg, but there is so much more than just that.

The battlefield is a big part of the Gettysburg experience, but there are also tributes to the native peoples, the biggest of which is called the "Hall of Icons," and you can get a sense of what life was like in Gettysburg during the war. In addition, there is a place called "Village Square," which is a replication of Pennsylvania life during the civil war.

The Crayola Experience
The Crayola experience is like recreating your entire childhood. Remember when you were a kid, and you got the 64 pack of Crayola crayons? Most people couldn't comprehend that there were that many colors. So likewise, when you first walk into the Crayola Experience, your brain won't process the colors that it is seeing.

Walking into this museum is like seeing it for the first time, and the really interesting part of it all, there are hands-on stations where you can create your colors. The Crayola is a great place to take kids of any age, but more importantly, it is a great place for adults to awaken their inner child.

Many of the museums found on this list are scattered through the entirety of Pennsylvania. Still, if you want to become more cultured by visiting museums, Philadelphia is a cool spot for you to check out. Not only are there so many cool and unique museums in Philadelphia, but there is also a ton of diversity within the city.

Philadelphia is a great place to visit, but it can be an even greater place to live. Luckily for you, if you are interested, there are several Philadelphia houses for sale that are waiting for your signature.
