How Art is Spread in a Digital World?

Through art, people express their feelings and their beliefs. Through art, we also gain more knowledge about the history of humanity, as art in different primitive forms has always been there.

The history of art goes back to prehistoric times. Archaeologists have uncovered numerous prehistoric artistical expressions in the form of cave writings. Speaking of the history of art, prehistoric art is usually divided into three epochs.

The oldest artistic piece is the Bhimbetka petroglyphs that dates back to 300,000 BCE. Some archaeologists believe the Bhimbetka petroglyphs are even older.

Uncovered in central India, the Bhimbetka petroglyphs are actually a collection of ten cupules with stone engravings. This form of stone art paved the way for stone figurines.

One of the most precious pieces of prehistoric art is the Venus of Tan Tan found in Morocco and Venus of Berekhat uncovered in Golan Heights.

When it comes to prehistoric artistic creativity and culture, it is associated with efficiency and brain size that impact other functions such as aesthetics, creative expression, and language. A lot has changed since simple Venus figurines and primitive cave paintings.

The digital world we live in paved the way for many new exciting art forms that would not be possible without the modern technologies we rely on.

All companies involved in the industry employ graphics designers who rely on their artistic creativity to create eye-catching games that offer a unique, great visual experience.

Spread of Digital Art
In the late 1960s, artists started using digital technology when creating art. One of the pioneers in digital art is definitely Allan Kaprow famed for his Happenings art events. In the Happenings events, art is presented as a series of actions or activities in which the audience also participates.

While primitive digital art emerged in the late 1960s, it was not popularized until the late 1980s after the very first personal computers were introduced.

Fast forward to 2021, we reside in a world dominated by digital devices. We live in a world where on average, people spend almost ten hours every day using their digital devices. According to this DataReportal report, over 4,8 billion people across the globe use digital devices and the Internet

According to the same report, the number of active Internet users has been growing exponentially at a rate of 4,8%. This means that every day, there are over half a million new Internet users.

Thanks to the exponential growth of bandwidth and chip power combined with the greater accessibility and affordability of digital devices, digital art in its different forms has become one of the popular creative mediums.

Digital art was also popularized following a major decline in the digital art software cost. With digital art software becoming readily available at more affordable prices, all creative individuals get to explore and benefit from digital art’s amazing potential.
