The Comprehensive Aircon Servicing Guide for Singapore Homeowners

Aircon servicing is an important part of keeping your air-conditioning unit in good condition. It should be done at least once a year.

Aircon servicing can help to identify any potential problems like leaks, clogged filters, or a malfunctioning thermostat.

It is recommended to have an aircon servicing Singapore company do the job, which will minimize the risk of damage or injury to the owner.

What Do Aircons Do, Anyway?
Air conditioners have been a staple of the summer in the Singapore since the 1950s. They are a necessity for cooling a room or home, and can also be used for heating, which is important in cold climates.

Air conditioning systems are either split-system or window units. Air conditioning systems use a heat pump to remove heat from outside air and put it indoors, where it is cooled down with refrigerant before being circulated into the room.

Split-system air conditioners have an indoor unit that sits on top of your furnace and an outdoor unit that sits next to your house’s exterior walls. This setup provides hot water to run through coils inside the indoor unit while also drawing cool air from inside your home through grates on its exterior walls.

An air conditioner is a machine that removes heat and humidity from an enclosed space such as a building or room. It does this by passing the air over a refrigerant (a substance such as Freon) which cools it.

Air conditioners can be categorized in many different ways, for example by what they cool (such as people or machinery), how much air they move, and what type of refrigeration system they use. Air-conditioning systems can also be classified according to how air is cooled:

1) Natural convection, 2) forced convection, 3) direct evaporative cooling.
An example of a natural convection is a cold glass that is put on a hot surface. The heat from the surface will be transferred through the cold glass to the liquid inside. This results in vaporization of water molecules from the liquid which subsequently cools down.

Forced convection is present when gas is heated and forced to flow as a result of some outside force, as in an electric fan or as wind blowing across a desert. This can also happen when air blows over an object that has been heated.

Direct evaporative cooling occurs when water evaporates due to contact with air with lower temperature than boiling point for that particular liquid, or due to contact with a colder solid object such as ice.

Common Issues with Aircons
By understanding the common mistakes made when building Aircons, you can be proactive about preventing them in your own Aircons.

Aircons are an important component of any home. They provide ventilation and heat control for the home, but they also need to be monitored to ensure that they are working properly. When aircons stop working properly, the air quality in the home can suffer, which can make people sick or make allergies worse.

Common Issues with Aircons and How to Prevent Them From Happening Again:
 Aircon is not ventilating enough or it is ventilating too much

 Air filter is dirty
 AC unit might need maintenance
 The thermostat might be set incorrectly
