LONDON, ENGLAND.-The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has been working closely with a number of agencies and Government Departments to offer immediate and long term support for victims of the London attacks and to ensure that all those affected receive the best possible help.
In the days and weeks following the attacks, the DCMS Disaster Response Unit has been liasing with other Government Departments on a wide range of support services such as the provision of free legal and financial support, co-ordination of compensation and the distribution of the London Bombings Relief Charitable Fund.
The Department will also be responsible for organising a memorial service for the 7 July bombings and setting up regular support network meetings, as well as working to ensure that the support practices put in place after the incidents remain for as long as they are needed.
