BROOKINGS, OR.-Photographer John Bryson, 81, died. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, he began working as a photographer and picture editor at Life. In 1955 he became a freelancer for magazines Life, Look and Holiday and other publications. In 1992 he published the book "The Private World of Katharine Hepburn" with his pictures of Hepburn. He also published a book on Armand Hammer titled "The World of Armand Hammer," in 1985. He took pictures of celebrities like Ernest Hemingway, Salvador Dali, Marilyn Monroe, Elizabeth Taylor, Clint Eastwood, Jason Robards Jr., Frank Sinatra, John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy and Nikita Khrushchev.
